Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO Spring/Summer 2027: “ENDLESS SUMMER” Reflects the Memories of Summer

On June 26, Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, “ENDLESS SUMMER,” during Paris Fashion Week Men’s.

The collection began with a striking statement from designer Yasuhiro Mihara himself: “I hate summer.” Reflecting on his childhood, spent surfing from an early age, Mihara explores the contradictory emotions that summer evokes—nostalgia and discomfort, longing and resentment.

Even while living in the city, surrounded by asphalt and concrete, he recalls endless blue skies, towering clouds, and the sound of crashing waves whenever he closes his eyes. Despite pursuing dreams, experiencing setbacks, and enduring loss, he believes that deep within, the child waving goodbye on a summer afternoon has never disappeared. That lingering memory of an endless summer quietly permeates the entire collection.

Yet the runway was far removed from the carefree image of a seaside resort. Instead, it presented a refined everyday wardrobe that captured the lingering afterglow of summer and the memories that remain etched within us long after the season has passed.

Summary

  • Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, “ENDLESS SUMMER,” inspired by designer Yasuhiro Mihara’s deeply personal memories and conflicted emotions toward summer.
  • Featuring muted color palettes, relaxed tailoring, and a wardrobe that blends military utility with resort-inspired ease, the collection captures the lingering atmosphere of summer long after the season has passed.
  • Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO’s signature design language—including subtle layering, shifted proportions, and understated details—was refined into a more restrained expression, marking a mature evolution of the brand’s aesthetic.

Faded Colors Define a Sophisticated Summer Wardrobe

One of the collection’s defining features was its restrained color palette. Navy, khaki, brown, gray, and ivory dominated the runway, creating the impression of garments naturally faded by sunlight and time.

Relaxed silhouettes further emphasized this understated mood. Oversized tailored jackets with exaggerated shoulders were paired with wide-leg trousers, reinterpreting the brand’s architectural tailoring with a sense of effortless ease. Open-collar shirts, polo shirts, and checked co-ords evoked vintage resortwear and sleepwear while maintaining a distinctly urban sophistication.

Equally notable was the seamless integration of menswear and womenswear. Rather than presenting separate wardrobes, the collection blurred traditional gender distinctions through fluid styling. Women’s looks featured softly draped mini dresses and long skirts, while men’s outfits incorporated flowing shirts and relaxed tailoring. The result was a unified wardrobe built around freedom of movement and shared silhouettes, reinforcing the collection’s cohesive identity.

Where Military Utility Meets Resort Ease

Military references appeared throughout the collection in the form of field parkas, MA-1 bombers, and cargo trousers. Rather than emphasizing ruggedness, these utilitarian staples were reimagined through lightweight fabrics and relaxed proportions.

Styled with shorts, knit caps, and sneakers, they blurred the boundaries between urban dressing and resortwear, presenting a contemporary interpretation of summer utility.

Elsewhere, lustrous satin shirts, fluid draped tops, and airy dresses introduced a subtle sensuality, allowing practicality and elegance to coexist throughout the collection.

An Endless Summer, An Unchanging Self

In his collection note, Mihara writes, “Whenever summer arrives, I wish it would end soon. Yet somehow, I always find myself longing for it.”

That emotional contradiction quietly resonates throughout the Spring/Summer 2027 collection. Rather than celebrating the exuberance of summer, the collection transforms memories that never truly fade into a wardrobe defined by muted colors and refined practicality. Its cleaner, more elegant aesthetic allows Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO’s long-standing design language—subtle displacements, quiet incongruities, and an appreciation for imperfection—to emerge with even greater clarity.

Rooted in Mihara’s deeply personal reflections, “ENDLESS SUMMER” ultimately captures not the season itself, but the memories that continue to shape us long after it has passed. It is a mature collection that lingers quietly, leaving a lasting emotional impression.
