SUMMER BASICS REFRESH
Let’s talk about basics! Summer is officially here and I am thinking about all the knits, easy pants, dresses, and other pieces that I will be living in! Let’s start with the above outfit. It is so easy and casual, yet still quite interesting, which makes for the perfect recipe. I have been wearing these pants with this piped blouse and these sandals that I have owned for years. Plus, the black and white palette makes it a breeze to mix and match with other shoes and accessories. I wore the same outfit the other day with this tote I love. Now, let’s chat about more summer basics I can’t live without…
BASIC KNITS // Knits are the foundation of any summer wardrobe. I have quite a few that I love, but at the very top of my list sits this tank and this tee (that I bought after a few girlfriends raved about it). I typically prefer my tank tops more on the fitted side and tees a bit more relaxed. If I am wearing a long sleeve knit, it will be this striped boatneck style or this open weave sweater. I just ordered this more slim tee with a boatneck that I want to dress up. So stay tuned for that!
EASY DRESSES // Whew, this heat in Florida right now is no joke, and easy dresses are a MUST. My current favorite knit dress is this one. It is a comfortable shape, is mini without being too short, and I absolutely love the neckline. Since that purchase I am considering this longer length and this terry dress, both from the same brand. The other dress shape I love is from HHH. I own both the midi and the mini, and both are bra-friendly, always available in chic prints, and the fabric is just the right weight.
SUMMER TOPS // I am currently living in the frog fastening tops from Zara, like this one. The boxy shape and super lightweight fabrication make them perfect for the humidity. They are quite sheer, so if that isn’t your thing, you might want to pass. I also love this short sleeve woven top that comes in two colors. Truth be told, on a very hot day, I am usually opting for a knit over a woven.
BOTTOMS TO LOVE // As witnessed above, I have grown quite fond of the balloon pant trend. In addition to the pants above, I also love these and these. Of course, I also love the Colby pant in all iterations. When I am going super casual, I am wearing these. In fact, I think I own them in every color available. I am not much of a shorts lover, but I think these are slowly converting me.
SIMPLE SANDALS YOU NEED // I KNOW, I KNOW, I have posted these 100 times, but these sandals are the GOAT. They are equal parts simple and refined. I own them in so many colors and wear them at least once per week. More sandals I stand behind are these criss-cross sandals that I could walk miles in, and these sleek flip-flops.
