The Lyst Index Q2 2026: Chanel Retains Top Spot as Summer Accessories and Sport Drive Fashion Demand

Fashion shopping platform Lyst released The Lyst Index Q2 2026 on August 5, ranking the world’s hottest brands and products for the April-to-June period. Chanel retained its position as the world’s hottest brand for a second consecutive quarter.

While luxury fashion’s biggest houses continued to dominate the brand ranking, demand surged for footwear, sunglasses and resort-ready clothing suited to the summer season. Sporting events, including the NBA, Wimbledon and the FIFA World Cup, also had a strong influence on product discovery and shopping behavior.

Summary

  • Chanel retained its position as the world’s hottest brand in The Lyst Index Q2 2026
  • Miu Miu climbed to No. 2, while Massimo Dutti recorded the quarter’s largest rise, moving up eight places
  • Summer footwear, including jelly shoes and toe sandals, accounted for four of the 10 hottest products
  • A New York Knicks cap topped the Hottest Products ranking after demand surged 4,276%
  • Summer weather, resort dressing and major sporting events shaped consumer demand across brands and price points

Chanel Holds the Top Spot as Miu Miu Climbs to No. 2

Chanel maintained its position as the world’s hottest brand. The launch of its Coco Beach and Métiers d’Art 2026 collections supported brand discovery, while demand for Chanel sunglasses on Lyst increased 70%. The brand’s Shield Sunglasses also entered the Hottest Products ranking at No. 7 following a 363% increase in demand.

7 CHANEL SHIELD SUNGLASSES

Miu Miu moved up two places to No. 2 after demand rose 30%. Sustained interest in its crochet bags and sunglasses, alongside its New Balance collaboration worn by tennis champion Coco Gauff, helped accelerate the brand’s momentum.

Massimo Dutti recorded the quarter’s largest climb, rising eight places to No. 10 as demand increased 43%. Celebrity visibility during Cannes, including an endorsement from Bella Hadid, and growing interest in its elevated, Mediterranean-inspired wardrobe contributed to the increase.

6 MASSIMO DUTTI TOE SANDALSCeline climbed five places to No. 15 following a 31% increase in demand. Growing excitement around Michael Rider’s creative vision helped build momentum for the brand.

Phoebe Philo entered The Lyst Index for the first time at No. 18 after demand rose 29%. The debut reflects growing interest in the label as it gradually expands its retail presence and builds momentum through product-led cultural moments.

Chloé rose three places to No. 11, with demand increasing 20%. Its Jelly Mules also ranked fifth on the Hottest Products list following a 657% surge in demand. INDEX HOTTEST BRANDS Q2 26 1x1 scaled INDEX HOTTEST BRANDS Q2 26 1x1 02 scaled

Summer Footwear Accounts for Four of the 10 Hottest Products

Summer footwear dominated the quarter’s product ranking, accounting for four of the top 10 positions.

Skims’ Jelly Shoes ranked third after demand rose 2,170%, while Gucci’s Vittoria Heels placed fourth following a 1,322% increase. Chloé’s Jelly Mules ranked fifth with demand up 657%, and Massimo Dutti’s Toe Sandals secured the sixth position after a 304% increase.

The popularity of jelly footwear and barely-there heeled sandals across different price points suggests that shoppers were increasingly driven by seasonal silhouettes and aesthetics rather than by a single brand name.

Lightweight, warm-weather pieces also performed strongly beyond footwear. Searches for Issey Miyake’s Madame-T Stole increased 501%, propelling the item to No. 2, while demand for DÔEN’s Iona Shorts rose 96%, placing the style at No. 8.

Zimmermann’s Daylight Dress entered the ranking at No. 10 after searches increased 322%. Overall demand for Zimmermann rose 63% during the quarter, reflecting growing interest in romantic styles suited to vacations and summer weddings.

Sport Emerges as a Powerful Fashion Discovery Engine

The latest ranking also highlights the growing influence of sport on fashion shopping.

A New York Knicks cap claimed the No. 1 position on the Hottest Products list after demand surged 4,276% quarter-on-quarter amid excitement surrounding the team’s title win.

1 NEWYORK KNICKS CAP

The Adidas x Willy Chavarria soccer jersey entered the ranking at No. 9 following a 373% increase in demand around the FIFA World Cup. Searches on Lyst for football-inspired fashion increased 60% from the first to the second quarter in the lead-up to the tournament.

9 WILLYC ADIDAS JERSEY

As athlete style, game highlights and fan-generated content circulate through social media and algorithmic feeds, sport is becoming an increasingly important route to fashion discovery beyond traditional media and runway presentations.

Seasonal Relevance Shapes Consumer Demand

The Lyst Index Q2 2026 demonstrates that although major luxury houses continue to lead the overall brand ranking, immediate connections to weather, lifestyle and cultural events are increasingly shaping product demand.

Jelly shoes, sandals, shield sunglasses and lightweight resort pieces responded directly to summer conditions, while caps and jerseys gained momentum through major sporting moments. Shoppers are increasingly choosing products that reflect how they are living and dressing in the moment, rather than relying exclusively on brand recognition.

The Lyst Index combines data from 160 million annual shoppers using the platform with signals from search, social media, editorial coverage and emerging AI discovery channels. Brands are assessed across three dimensions—Desire, Demand and Discovery—to measure how fashion attention forms, converts and spreads online over a three-month period.
