H&M Teams Up With New York Label WARDROBE.NYC for a Wardrobe of Modern Essentials
H&M has announced a new designer collaboration with WARDROBE.NYC, the New York-based luxury essentials brand, presenting a range of pieces built for the modern wardrobe. The collection launches on August 6, 2026 at select stores and on hm.com.
Founded in 2017 by editor and stylist Christine Centenera and designer Josh Goot, WARDROBE.NYC was built on a clear conviction: that the modern wardrobe can be distilled into its purest, most compelling form. Since then, the label has offered pared-back essentials refined to the fewest, most versatile pieces.
Summary
- H&M unveils a designer collaboration with WARDROBE.NYC, the New York-based luxury essentials label founded by Christine Centenera and Josh Goot in 2017.
- Drawing on nearly a decade of the WARDROBE.NYC archive, the collection gathers its most enduring silhouettes: strong shoulders, long lines, and a minimal palette accented with blue.
- A long black wool coat anchors the range, alongside blazers, bombers, washed denim, and hoodies built around the idea of layering.
- The collection launches globally on August 6, 2026 (from 10 a.m. in the US) at select H&M stores and on hm.com.
Essentials Drawn From Nearly a Decade of Archive
The collaboration draws on almost ten years of the WARDROBE.NYC archive, gathering the silhouettes that have endured longest. The result is a tightly edited selection of essentials, forward-looking yet easy to fold into everyday dressing.
The silhouettes are modern and sensual, defined by strong shoulders and long lines. The label’s signature minimal color palette is punctuated with accents of blue, while premium wool blends, organic cotton and jersey, and recycled functional fabrics, together with a fine attention to detail, give the collection its cohesion.

A Black Wool Coat at the Heart of the Collection
A long black wool coat stands as the collection’s signature piece. Two classic blazers, paired with mini and midi skirts, bring a refined reading to suiting.
A cropped wool bomber and a washed denim jacket carry that precise tailoring into more casual territory, while a padded bomber, low-rise drawstring trousers, and a hoodie translate a sporty, utilitarian mood through an elevated lens.
“I wanted to create a capsule collection for H&M that stayed true to the concept of the wardrobe: pieces that are timeless and versatile, essential yet of the moment. That approach is rooted in a sincere, personal philosophy about clothing, and I think that honesty has always been part of WARDROBE.NYC,” said Josh Goot.

Layering as the Core Idea
“Layering is essential to how I put a look together. I build an outfit from wardrobe staples, almost like stacking building blocks, and I also value the standout piece that completes a silhouette or a look. I trust these pieces completely, and that reliability is exactly what WARDROBE.NYC is about,” said Christine Centenera.
Layering is the collection’s central concept: every piece is designed to work in harmony with the others, letting the wearer assemble a range of looks freely, with fitted bodysuits providing a simple base.

“What we wanted most was for every piece in the collection to become a staple. You build the foundation of a wardrobe and keep mixing what you already own with the new pieces. That versatility has always been our goal,” Centenera added.
“Every silhouette is so carefully considered that just looking at it tells you exactly how it will feel to wear. This collaboration will become a collection that stays loved in the wardrobe for a long time,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor and Head of Womenswear Design at H&M.

The WARDROBE.NYC x H&M collection launches globally on August 6, 2026, at select H&M stores and on hm.com, going live online in the US at 10 a.m. that day. As with H&M’s designer collaborations, quantities are limited, and availability varies by market.
