A dedicated creative team in London
Kearns will oversee the entire collection-development process, including design, merchandising and branding, from the initial concept through execution. His appointment also marks the establishment of a dedicated London-based team designed to strengthen the long-term collaboration between BOSS and Beckham.
Oliver Timm, Chief Sales Officer and Deputy CEO of HUGO BOSS, said: “We are excited to have Daniel on board at HUGO BOSS. With his extensive design background and strong creative expertise, he will play a key role in further elevating our BOSS BY BECKHAM collections. The decision is therefore an important milestone in our long-term strategic partnership with David Beckham and in taking it to the next level.”
Beckham also described the appointment as the beginning of a new chapter in his partnership with the brand.
“Daniel Kearns appointment marks an exciting chapter in my partnership with BOSS. It’s testament to what the brand and I have already built together and shows that we’re moving into this next phase – with a dedicated team based in London. Having known Daniel for some time, I’ve seen firsthand how his attention to detail and talent will be a great fit as we develop each collection.”
Reuniting with a longtime collaborator
The appointment reunites Kearns and Beckham following their previous work together at British fashion label Kent & Curwen. Kearns served as the brand’s Creative Director from 2016 to 2021, contributing to its relaunch during Beckham’s involvement with the company.
Kearns returned to Kent & Curwen in 2023 as Chief Creative Officer, simultaneously taking on the same role at Cerruti 1881. He most recently led the creative direction of both brands.
Throughout his career, Kearns has held menswear design positions at Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci. His experience across several luxury fashion houses, combined with his established understanding of Beckham’s personal style, brings a distinct perspective to the next phase of the collaboration.
Kearns said: “I have known David for many years and always admired his approach to design, style and curation. I am very much looking forward to working with him and the team at BOSS to bring the joint vision and David‘s personal style to life.”
First collection scheduled for Fall/Winter 2027
HUGO BOSS and Beckham announced their multi-year strategic partnership in May 2024. The collaboration spans both formalwear and casualwear, combining Beckham’s personal style with the design foundations and premium positioning of BOSS.
The pair’s first jointly designed collection was introduced as BECKHAM x BOSS for Spring/Summer 2025. The collaboration has since continued under the BOSS BY BECKHAM name.
Kearns’ first collection as Head of Design will be presented for Fall/Winter 2027. With a dedicated team now operating from London, the appointment signals a more structured creative direction for the partnership as it moves into its next phase.
